General practice continues to struggle with local practices at risk of closure. Drumragh Family Practice is committed to providing health care to the population of Omagh, although there remains significant challenges.

Drumragh Family Practice is under enormous strain through the winter period. We are not able to manage the demand, which we encounter each day, as there is only a limited number of appointments each day.

BMA guidance from 2018 has advised that a safe level of work is for GPs to see up to 25 patient contacts each day. This includes a mix of face-to face and remote contacts.

Our administration staff will try to direct you to the most appropriate member of our health care team, this may not necessarily be a GP, but could be an experienced pharmacist, practice nurse or physiotherapist.

We also now have local pharmacies who will manage

Urinary Tract Infections:

Gordons Chemists, Omagh  028 8224 2122

Bradley's Pharmacy/Castle, Omagh  028 8224 0554

Brookmount Pharmacy, Omagh 028 8225 2205

Boots, Omagh  028 8224 5455

Once we have reached out limit and all appointments have been taken, then we would ask patients to use other NHS services which are available, or accident emergency where there is a genuine emergency.
